imPRESS 2020 To Become Interactive Virtual Event

Posted By: Ian Webb Pressing News,

Our top priority as your industry association is the well-being of our member companies and professionals — it’s at the foundation of everything that we do at PIAG. In May, we notified you that the Board of Directors had elected to postpone imPRESS 2020 until later in the year to allow public health measures to play out and to evaluate the conditions as they progressed.

Last week, the PIAG Executive Committee met and unanimously decided to cancel the in-person portion of the 2020 imPRESS Celebration of Print. After reviewing membership survey results, COVID-19 statistics in the state of Georgia, and guidance from public health officials, the committee ultimately determined it would be nearly impossible to hold an in-person event like imPRESS while ensuring the health and safety of attendees and staff.

imPRESS is the premier event for PIAG, and the Georgia print industry, and everyone involved in the decision believed that we would not be able to produce the same caliber of event this year.

However, the year’s award-winning pieces, individuals, and companies will still be honored and celebrated through a virtual experience. “We are hoping to combine both live and pre-recorded portions to deliver an exciting, interactive online event. We hope you and your fellow employees will gather, at a recommended social distance, to watch and take part in the celebration of your colleagues and fellow industry members,” said PIAG President/CEO, Jason Cline.

Mark your calendars and save the date for a lunchtime event on Wednesday, September 16. I look forward to sharing what we’ve been working on when we open registration in the coming weeks.

I want to thank you for your understanding during these unprecedented times. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly at ian@piag.org or (678) 816-1166.
