Pressing News,

PIAG welcomed printers, vendors, and technical educators from across the state this week for its summer Lunch & Learn, featuring senior leadership from the U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) who provided an in-depth look at emerging opportunities in government printing and production.

Held at PIAG headquarters in Smyrna, the event brought together industry leaders for an exclusive three-part program focused on business development, industry trends, and production technology.

Ravinder Birdi, Managing Director of GPO, shared insights on the evolving federal printing landscape, strategic priorities for the agency, and opportunities for private-sector printers to engage with government procurement programs.

Attendees also heard from Beth Rich, GPO's Manager of Customer Services, who provided practical guidance on doing business with GPO, navigating contracting opportunities, and positioning companies for success in the federal marketplace.

“We want to do business with the private sector,” Ms. Rich told attendees. “Commercial partnerships are essential for the government’s print mission.”

The event, sponsored by Canon, concluded with a live demonstration of the Canon varioPRINT iX3200, showcasing the latest advancements in high-speed inkjet production and automation.

"One of PIAG's core priorities is creating opportunities for our members to learn from industry leaders, build valuable connections, and discover new avenues for growth," said Jon Krueger, President & CEO of PIAG. "Having both Ravinder and Beth with us provided attendees with direct access to decision-makers and insights that can immediately benefit their businesses."

The Lunch & Learn is part of PIAG's ongoing commitment to professional development, workforce advancement, and helping Georgia's print and graphic communications community remain competitive in a rapidly changing marketplace.
