Job Opening - Insurance Account Manager

POSITION TITLE: ACCOUNT MANAGER
REPORTS TO: PRESIDENT/CEO

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Account Manager oversees and executes the day-to-day operations for Printers Group Insurance Agency (dba PIAG Insurance Services), a fully owned subsidiary of the Printing & Imaging Association of Georgia (PIAG). PIAG is a non-profit trade association representing Georgia’s print and graphic communications industry – and providing health and commercial insurance solutions is one of our most important member benefits.

The Account Manager has a broad role, but generally it includes managing day-to-day activities, analyzing statistics, customer service, reading and writing reports, maintaining relationships with carriers, and prospecting new business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

SALES

  • Prospecting and establishing referral relationships with individuals inside and outside the printing industry
  • Working with clients to understand their insurance needs, analyze options with many “A” rated insurance providers, and provide a custom solution to mitigate risk
  • Prepare and oversee quotes and renewals
  • Process health enrollments
  • Stays informed of industry information, new product/program developments, and coverages to continuously improve agency sales goals

OPERATIONS

  • Prepare and review renewals, identify new business, and provide information on overall success of agency
  • Develop and implement reconciliation system; prepare commission reports
  • Maintain positive relationships with carriers and partners
  • Develop, document, implement, and periodically audit agency operating procedures, service standards, and service expectations
  • Monitor and manage agency and employee licenses in multiple states
  • Oversee annual review and purchase of agency and association insurance policies
  • Assist with developing, administering, and adhering to the agency administration budget
  • Assist with marketing
  • Works effectively both with and without direct supervision and efficiently in a team environment as well as independently
  • Willingly perform other duties as assigned within agency and association
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Honesty, teamwork, professionalism, and a strong work ethic
  • Must be licensed in property and casualty, as well as life and health
  • Previous insurance experience
  • Passion for people and processes
  • Able to see the big picture as well as the finer details
  • Systematic and organized
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, for dealing with many types of people at all levels in a direct diplomatic way
  • Effective time management, prioritizing, and delegation
  • Knowledge of printing market a plus
  • Knowledge of insurance and participating vendors, plans, and services
  • Experience in a small office/small association a plus
  • Ability to be a part of a contributing member of a team
