2010 SkillsUSA Onsite Training Day

PIAG has put together a full day of hands-on training for contestants in the Advertising Design and Graphic Communications SkillsUSA Georgia competitions. Industry experts will work with students to hone their skills, answer questions and give them an opportunity to prepare for the competition the next day. This training is only open to Advertising Design and SkillsUSA contestants. If you are a contestant, or have a student that is competing, contact Sue Rodman at srodman@piag.org to reserve a spot for the training. A schedule for the day is below. _________________________
Onsite Training Agenda (lunch provided by Heidelberg)
- Pre-Press training (for both Advertising Design and Graphic Communication contestants) - Elements of Good Design with representatives from AIGA (for Advertising Design contestants) - Offset Press Operations and Folding (this is a hands-on program for Graphic Communications contestants. You will get on the press and folder that will be used during the competition the next day.)
Schedule for March 11, 2010 Ad Design 10:00 - 12 noon - Review regional tests OR examples of work 12:00 - 12:30 pm - lunch (provided by Heidelberg) 12:30 - 1:30 pm - pre-press 1:30 - 2:30 pm - Tour of Heidelberg 2:30 pm - bus leaves for Airport Marriott
Schedule for March 11, 2010 Graphic Communications Group 1 (groups will be assigned that day) 10:00 - 11:00 am - pre-press 11:00 - 12 noon - Tour of Heidelberg 12:00 - 12:30 pm - Lunch (provided by Heidelberg) 12:30 - 1:15 pm - Finishing 1:15 - 4:00 pm - Offset Press
Group 2 10:00 - 12:45 pm - Offset Press 12:45 - 1:15 pm - lunch (provided by Heidelberg) 1:15 - 2:00 pm - Finishing 2:00 - 3:00 pm - pre-press 3:00 - 4:00 pm - Tour of Heidelberg
