PRISCO: Helping Customers Meet the Challenge of Going Green
MEETING THE CHALLENGE OF GOING GREEN
Printers throughout the country are becoming increasingly aware of the necessity to "Go Green." Most agree that becoming a green printer encompasses three areas: Product, process and the envelope. Product refers to the materials used in the printing process (i.e., Paper, ink, solvents, fountain solution, etc.) Process refers to how a job moves through the plant from prepress to finished product. The envelope refers to the building, employees and grounds. While there is still much confusion related to the terms "Green" and "Sustainability," one of the easiest ways to begin the journey is to start recycling as many materials as possible.
To assist printers throughout the country, Prisco (Printers' Service) has established a drum/tote recycling program. Prisco is packaging all aqueous and UV coatings in 100% recycled plastic drums/totes. Printers purchasing Prisco coatings can have these drums/totes, as well as all other Prisco drums/totes, picked up and recycled at no charge to the customer.
This program establishes a closed loop through continuous recycling which prevents these containers from finding their way to a landfill, thus avoiding any negative environmental impact as well as offering printers one step in the right direction. Printers interested in this program should contact their local Prisco Account Manager or send an email to inquiries@prisco.com.
