2011 SkillsUSA Advertising Design Championship

The Printing and Imaging Association of Georgia and AIGA, the professional association for design is teaming up to produce the SkillsUSA Georgia Advertising Design Competition. This year's event will be held at Heidelberg, USA in Kennesaw, Georgia on Friday, March 18.

The Competition
Students will be given three hours to complete an advertisement. We are working on securing computers and developing the software needed

Timing
Contestants in the advertising design competition will be given three hours to complete their advertisement. Lunch will be provided for participants courtesy of Heidelberg, USA.
 
 
Training
The AIGA has compiled the following training resources for teachers to assist in preparing students for the state SkillsUSA Advertising Design Competition.


Written Test
The written test is the SkillsUSA worksforce readiness test for Advertising Design. You can view a study guide at here.

This online test must be completed prior to coming to Kennesaw for the competition. Internet and computer access to take this test is not available at Heidelberg.

Pre-Contest Onsite Training
PIAG and AIGA are also sponsoring an onsite training program for advertising design students the day before the competition. Training will include pre-press and the elements of good design. Transportation to the training session is available for those who need it. Click here for additional information on the training and a schedule.

Awards
First Place - $1,000 Scholarship given by PIAG and travel expenses for the student and advisor to the National competition. Training for National competition.
Second Place - $750 Scholarship given by PIAG
Third Place - $500 Scholarship given by PIAG
