Think Ink is a program designed to allow PIAG member companies to purchase Hostmann-Steinberg ink through the Pitman Company, and by doing so, Pitman will contribute $.02/lb to the Educational Foundation of the PIAG in honor of the member company. Q. How are the contributions to be used and who makes that decision? A. The contributions by member companies will be calculated quarterly. At that time, the Pitman Company will make a contribution to the Educational Foundation every quarter. The executive committee of the Educational Foundation will decide how to use the monies that are donated. The Skills USA program is one possibility, as are other educational programs supported by the Foundation. Pitman and Hostmann-Steinberg will not be participating in deciding how or where the money is spent. Q. How can I participate? A. Contact your local Pitman representative. . There are no enrollment forms, your purchases will automatically be calculated by Pitman and a donation made in your name at the end of each quarter. If you wish, Pitman can come to your operation and, help you decide the right series of ink for your company. If you need technical assistance with pressroom support, color management, or color profiling of your proofing systems, Pitman will provide these services at no charge to you. Q. Who is Hostmann-Steinberg? A. Hostmann Steinberg is a 245-year-old ink company headquartered in Germany. The company offers high quality sheet fed offset inks, heat set web inks, UV, UV/hybrid, and coldest web inks. They have industry-leading products and are already used by many printers in Georgia and throughout North America. Hostmann-Steinberg is one of the few select printing ink manufacturers to own and control the quality of all raw materials that go into ink manufacturing. Hostmann-Steinberg and the Pitman Company have 10 blending facilities along with 18 warehouse locations across the United States. Q. What about special blends, PMS, and spot colors? A. Hostmann and Pitman have a blending facility in metro Atlanta and provide quality blended inks with exceptional service. Color matches, draw downs on specific paper stocks, and consultation with your customers are just a few of the services provided. Q. Do I have to keep track of my purchases in the Think Ink program? A. No, that is not necessary. Pitman will track all sales and report directly to PIAG. Should you have any questions, Pitman will be glad to review your purchases at any time to verify the data and the accumulated contribution from your participation.
