2010 SkillsUSA Championships

The PIAG Educational Foundation has partnered with the Georgia Department of Education and SkillsUSA Georgia to develop and administer the SkillUSA Georgia Graphic Communications and Advertising Design Statewide Championships. For more information on this partnership, contact Sue Rodman.

What is SkillsUSA?
SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled work force. The organization serves more than 280,000 students and instructors annually and has 13,000 school chapters in 54 state and territorial associations. More than 14,500 instructors and administrators are professional members of SkillsUSA. Contestants in the SkillsUSA Georgia competition must first compete and win in one of eight SkillsUSA Regional Competitions.

2010 SkillsUSA Statewide Competition Agenda
March 11-13, 2010
The 2010 SkillsUSA Georgia Statewide Graphic Communications and Advertising Design Championships will be held March 11-13 at Heidelberg, USA in Kennesaw, Georgia. The Awards program will take place on Saturday, March 13 as part of the SkillsUSA Georgia Awards.

Schedule of Events
Thursday, March 11 | Time 10am-4pm | Optional training session for graphic communication competitors, Heidelberg USA
Friday, March 12 | 9:30 - 3:30 pm | Graphic Communications Championship, Heidelberg, USA
Friday, March 12 | Time TBD | Advertising Design Championship, Heidelberg, USA (sponsored in part by PIAG and AIGA, the professional association for design
Saturday, March 13 | Time TBD | Award Ceremony

Transportation Information
Transportation to and from the championships is available for CONTESTANTS ONLY. Transportation for advisors is on a space available basis. More information on transportation will be provided closer to the competition.

2010 PIAG Demonstration Facility Tour
As a way to show teachers and students the depth of the graphic communications industry, PIAG is offering a tour of a print facility. More information about this tour will be available soon.SkillsUSA National Competition
The winner of the SkillsUSA statewide competition and their advisor will receive a stipend from PIAG to attend the National SkillsUSA competitions in graphic communication and advertising design.
